Daffodils herald spring

Midst the chilly winds and  brown grass, the daffodils appear like yellow heads wearing matching bonnets.  They seem oblivious to the wind and cold,  smiling and declaring,”Spring is here.” As much a herald of spring as robins, daffodils courageously push forth through the snow covered ground of northern part of state, and the hard packed ground of the drought driven south.  Bloom bonnets bloom.

  2. I can remember a few weeks ago, when our daffodills suddenly appeared – why hadn’t I noticed them before they donned their bonnets?? – yet it was their yellow bonnets that called for my recognition! Yea, spring is here!

  3. One of my favorites, the daffodils. So many in bloom now. Enjoyed your words.
