Cup of Nostalgia

Half cream and sweet was my debut tea
Shared in the dining room on my mother’s knee

Memories of hot nectar in vintage cups served with scones in B.C.
Rival those of tea poured from silver urns in Addis Ababa in ’03

Cast iron teapots in Japan with leaves steeping long
Strong tea with honey in Jerusalem shop was oolong

Ahh the smell of orange pekoe at sidewalk cafe in Rome
Can’t compare to joy of tiny cups with grandchild at home.

Thanks for your kind comments. I tried to send my poetry, but not sure I did it correctly. I tried to enter last week and think I entered the wrong post. I would like to enter cup of nostalgia and twilight legacy for this week. Did i post correctly? Also I would like to add your link to my blog but do not know how. I am in kindergarten when it comes to blogs. Thanks for your help. I enjoy your blogsight and all the poems you celebrate in other poets. Thanks for letting me join.

  5. I travel often and wherever I go I always bring back a coffee cup with the name of the place I’ve been … your poem here reminds me of my cups, I drink in a different one every day, it depends where my nostalgia goes to …
