Nature’s Kaleidoscope

Butterflies, ladybugs, and bumblebees

lend color to the sky like a kaleidoscope

Look quickly as the hummingbird

adds his iridescent hues

Dragonflies, moths, and cicadas too,

wear their camouflage to blend in

The sky will soon be sparkling with

the twinkle of fireflies flitting about

Living creation on a miniature scale

painting a moving design if we but pause to observe.

  7. Wow! I love how you played with the colors, and camouflaged the insects in solid green.
I like the line: creation on a miniature scale… Every time I look at tree trunk, all I see are the myriad signs of life, and when I look at a mountain, I see a universe. I think you must do the same.

  8. I see a rainbow of beautiful words. πŸ™‚
